Antigen-presenting innate lymphoid cells orchestrate neuroinflammation - Nature

Pro-inflammatory T cells in the central nervous system (CNS) are causally associated with multiple demyelinating and neurodegenerative diseases1-6, but the pathways that control these responses remain unclear. Here we define...

Collectively, our data define a population of inflammatory ILC3s that is essential for directly promoting T-cell-dependent neuroinflammation in the CNS and reveal the potential of harnessing peripheral tissue-resident ILC3s for the prevention of autoimmune disease.

Conclusion: The association between NfL and myelin MRI markers suggest that elevated serum NfL is a useful biomarker that reflects not only acute axonal damage, but also damage to myelin and inflammation, likely due to the known synergistic myelin-axon coupling relationship.

Conclusion: IFN-β therapy is more effective on Th17 than Th1, but it does not reform altered expression of hsa-miR-326 and hsa-miR-29b-3p in Th17 and Th1, respectively.

Relapsing-remitting and secondary‐progressive multiple sclerosis patients differ in decoding others' emotions by their eyes

Relapsing-remitting and secondary‐progressive multiple sclerosis patients differ in decoding others' emotions by their eyes

Difficulties in emotion processing and social cognition (SC) have been identified in MS patients. We aimed to explore neural correlates of those difficulties and possible differences between relapsin...

Conclusions: Results suggest that, in addition to other clinical differences between RRMS and SPMS, the ability to recognize others' emotional states may be affected in SPMS more significantly than RRMS patients. This is supported by both behavioral and MRI data.

B-cell depleters attenuate the humoral response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in multiple sclerosis patients: A case-control study

B-cell depleters attenuate the humoral response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in multiple sclerosis patients: A case-control study

Source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8599138/

B-cell depleting agents are FDA approved for the treatment of RRMS (ocrelizumab (OCR) and ofatumumab (OFA)) and PPMS (OCR). In the case of OCR, prior studies have raised concerns about...

Conclusions: Patients who received B-cell depleters within the prior 6 months of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination had decreased odds of developing antibodies compared with other DMTs. In line with other similar research, this suggests that b-cell depleters attenuate the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. Although S1P modulators had an attenuation...
