Change of CGRP Plasma Concentrations in Migraine after Discontinuation of CGRP-(Receptor) Monoclonal Antibodies - PubMed
Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36678920/
Discontinuation of treatment with monoclonal antibodies (mAb) targeting the Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP) pathway leads to an increase in migraine frequency. We aimed to assess changes in free and total...
Conclusions: Cessation of treatment with CGRP(-R) mAbs did not have an impact on the free-circulating CGRP concentrations. Total CGRP decreased significantly after three months of treatment discontinuation.

Conclusions: In comparison with the non-psoriatic control group, psoriasis patients are predisposed to a significantly higher risk of migraine, particularly migraine with aura, psoriasis patients with more severe disease and those with PsA have a markedly higher risk of having migraine, and the migraine headache index is significantly higher in psoriasis patients.

Characterization of trigeminal C-fiber reactivity through capsaicin-induced release of calcitonin gene-related peptide - PubMed

Our results suggest that the trigeminovascular system reacts differently from extracephalic areas, which may explain the trigeminal susceptibility to CGRP-mediated pain attacks. By demonstrating a different reactivity of the V1...
Conclusions: Our results suggest that the trigeminovascular system reacts differently from extracephalic areas, which may explain the trigeminal susceptibility to CGRP-mediated pain attacks. By demonstrating a different reactivity of the V1 dermatome in patients with migraine, our finding suggests that the first trigeminal branch is functionally different from the second and third branches; however, only in patients with migraine.

Altered functional connectivity of the right caudate nucleus in chronic migraine: a resting-state fMRI study - PubMed

Conclusions: "Our results revealed abnormal right CN-based FC values in CM patients, suggesting dysfunction of brain networks associated with pain perception and multi-regulation (emotion, cognition, and sensory). Aberrant FC of the CN can provide potential neuroimaging markers for the diagnosis and treatment of CM."

Conclusions: These findings suggest that hypertension may contribute to the chronic evolution of headache with mechanisms shared with migraine; ie, vascular tone alteration and autonomic dysregulation.
