Objective: To demonstrate that calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) induces headache exacerbation with migraine-like features in patients with persistent post-traumatic headache (PTH) attributed to mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, two-way crossover study was conducted. Analyses were intention-to-treat.

Agree, interesting article which may support that the phenotype of the headache ie migraine may be more important than the cause (mTBI) with regard to mechanism and treatment. 2 Caveats:
No mention whether any of the study participants had a prior history of migraine which would influence interpretation of the results
No mention whether the headache that was induced by CGRP was the same as their usual PTH.

This is a really helpful study as it can provide evidence that cGRP inhibitors may be helpful in the treatment of PTH.
